Café Amudham embarked on its journey in June 2022 with the intention of providing a fresh and trendy take on the traditional South Indian eateries in town. Since the launch of our first outlet, we have remained true to our mission, ensuring that our patrons can enjoy traditional, authentic, and hygienically prepared food in an aesthetically pleasing ambiance.
The name "Amudham" holds significant meaning, as it translates to "Food for the Gods" and also signifies "nectar" or "sweetness" (Amrutham) in South Indian culture. We aim to share the sweetness of our South Indian culinary heritage with as many people as possible. Thus far, we have been overwhelmed with the love and support from our patrons.
This outpouring of love and support has encouraged us to open multiple outlets. We are incredibly excited about the response we have received so far and cannot wait to introduce our expanded menu, which highlights forgotten recipes and hidden gems from every nook and corner of Southern India.
Drawing inspiration from the elegance of a peacock feather, our creative journey led us to explore a plethora of patterns and experiment with various shades of blue. Our ultimate objective was to craft an icon that effortlessly blends eye-catching simplicity with a timeless traditional charm, infused with a modern Santorini twist. Consequently, we embraced the enchanting Teal palette for the iconography, meticulously crafting diverse peacock motifs and forms until we arrived at this stunning result!
